Stand With Crypto Backs Bipartisan Slate Ahead of US Midterms

Coinbase-backed advocacy group Stand With Crypto has endorsed three Senate and two House candidates from both major US parties. The selections arrive after the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act, a crypto market-structure bill that passed the House in 2025. Digital-asset money is already flowing into key races, with industry-supported PAC Fairshake pledging $30 million for Republican Senator Jon Husted’s campaign in Ohio.

Base Activates Cobalt Upgrade for Tokenized Asset Controls

Ethereum layer-2 network Base has activated Cobalt, adding compliance and administrative features to its B20 token standard. Issuers can combine identity, accreditation and sanctions checks, schedule stock-split adjustments, and authorize designated administrators to move tokens with a public note. The upgrade also introduces private conditional transactions that become eligible for inclusion only when specified onchain criteria, such as a target price before a block deadline, are met.

Bloomberg Terminal Adds Allium-Powered Stablecoin Dashboard

Bloomberg has added an Allium-powered stablecoin dashboard to its Terminal, bringing hourly onchain metrics into a platform widely used by financial institutions. The tool tracks assets with more than $100 million in circulation and lets users compare supply, minting, burning, transfers and velocity across networks and peg types. Bloomberg says the covered stablecoins represent more than 98% of the market and the dashboard is available through its RWAS command.

Petrobras Builds Cardano Apps to Track Renewable Fuel Claims

Brazilian state-controlled oil producer Petrobras has developed two Cardano-based applications for renewable fuel traceability. One tokenizes environmental attributes linked to sustainable aviation fuel, aiming to prevent duplicate claims under a Book-and-Claim model. The other records checkpoints across the production, transport and use of Diesel R. The projects are part of a research collaboration with PUC-Rio’s Ledger Labs; deployment timing and covered fuel volumes were not disclosed.

Bitget Restores Major Withdrawals After $388M Security Breach

Crypto exchange Bitget says it is gradually restoring operations after a security breach caused $388 million in user losses. Access to Bitcoin, Ether and USDT withdrawals has resumed, with withdrawals for all tokens expected to return Friday. The company’s protection fund has reached $309 million, while investigators continue examining who was behind the attack and Bitget offers rewards tied to frozen or recovered funds.

THORChain’s Bitget Response Reopens DeFi Liability Debate

THORChain’s refusal—and claimed inability—to block addresses tied to Bitget’s $387.5 million hack has revived questions about legal liability in decentralized finance. The protocol says its retired admin key prevents unilateral censorship, while NEAR Intents used an automated screening system to stop $50 million linked to the exploit. Crypto lawyer Yuriy Brisov argued that intervention may protect users but can also weaken a protocol’s decentralization defense against regulatory or civil claims.

Singapore’s Crypto Activity Jumps 55% as Institutional Flows Expand

Singapore recorded $284 billion in crypto activity in the year through June 2026, up 55.4% and enough to retake the lead across Central and Southeast Asia and Oceania, according to Chainalysis. Institutional-platform volume rose 94% to $60 billion, driven mainly by a concentrated group of market makers, OTC firms and brokerages. The wider region contracted 6.8%, while the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam showed stronger small-value peer-to-peer activity.
